SJO Live Recording at Cross St Band Hall!!!

The Southbank Jazz Orchestra returns with an exciting evening of original jazz!

Co-leader Caleb Paine will be presenting work that is the culmination of his honours studies this year at the University of Melbourne. Caleb's work reflects Tasmania and Victoria's captivating landscapes and wildlife, evoking everything from the movements of jellyfish, to the colours of the sunrise, and the grandeur of the River Derwent. Caleb has been composing for the Southbank Jazz Orchestra since 2023 and has been commissioned by the Melbourne Recital Centre, and recently had his work performed in Minneapolis as part of the International Society of Jazz Arrangers and Composers Launchpad program.

This performance will be recorded live for the university.
