Flatpack Kitchen Design and Installation XA-TS05

Ready to take the guesswork out of your kitchen renovation? This hands-on short course gives you the skills to confidently design, plan and install flatpack kitchens using online design tools like Kaboodle and IKEA, plus the trade secrets professionals use.

Learn how to avoid costly mistakes, assemble like a pro, and gain real insight into cabinet-making techniques. On completion, you’ll have the practical skills and confidence to turn flat packs into a flawless kitchen.

Delivered at CIT’s specialist cabinet-making workshops, this course is delivered flexibly through a combination of in-person classroom learning, online delivery and practical demonstrations. You’ll get to try your hand at assembling and installing flatpack units and see how the professionals do it so you can achieve the same high-quality results at home.

To enrol in this course, you must be aged 17 years or older, and be one of the following: 

• an Australian citizen or permanent resident 

• a New Zealand citizen 

• the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa 

• an eligible temporary visa holder as defined in the CIT Admission and Enrolment Policy.   

• Hybrid course delivered on-campus and online over 2 weeks (2 evening classes, plus 3 hours online learning)

• How to safely prepare for kitchen demolition, including electrical, water and structural considerations.
• Using online design tools such as Kaboodle and IKEA to create accurate kitchen plans.
• Planning kitchen layouts for function, safety and compliance.
• Ordering processes and trade tips to avoid common mistakes.
• Trade-standard assembly methods for durability and precision.
• Installation techniques for infill panels, door clearances, hinge placements and alignment.
