The Inaugural Pedro “Pete” Benavides Pump Track Time Trial, will take place at the Pedro “Pete” Benavides Park Alliance Pump Track in Brownsville, Texas. This will be a time trial qualifier, followed by single round elimination in head-to-head competition until we get to the Top 3 fastest competitors in your age/gender/bike category. You wll clock in your fastest THREE (3) laps on the flow side of the Alliance asphalt pump track (not the jump line) to qualify and advance to the knockout rounds of the competition.
Below is the tentative schedule for the event:
8:00 am - Track opens for warm-ups
8:30 am - Time Trial Begins (all categories)
10:00 am - Elimination Round (all categories)
11:00 am - Finals Round (Top 5 per category)
11:30 am - Podiums
12:00 pm - Event Concludes
We will consolidate age/gender/bike categories if we have less than 5 competitors. If track is determined to be too wet or slick due to weather conditions, we will postpone to a later TBA date.
You are welcome to bring your pop-up tent and foldable chairs to set up around the track. We will also have bleachers available for spectators. There are onsite porta-potties, as well as restroom facilities at Benavides Park across the street.
