I am writing in support of the upcoming “Ritter Way” dog dock-diving challenge which will honor the life and legacy of Jamieson R. Ritter, a 27-year-old hero who selflessly gave his life in the line of duty on July 4, 2024, while serving as a Cleveland Police Officer. The “Ritter Way” event is a charity event being hosted this year by Mill Pond Kennels on May 30, 2026, in conjunction with The Poplaski Family, including Sophie – the official Spokesdog of the Jamieson Ritter Foundation.
All proceeds from the “Ritter Way” event will benefit the Jamieson Ritter Foundation, which works to create safer communities while empowering Jamieson’s life of service. Funds raised will help sustain and expand the Jamieson Ritter Foundation Public Service Award, which is a $10,000 college scholarship presented to a high school student pursuing a career in public service and exemplifying Jamieson’s core values. We are reaching out to ask for your support in making this event a success. Your contribution, whether through sponsorship, donation, or participation, will directly impact the lives of individuals working to improve their communities just as Jamieson did. Your involvement is critical in helping us continue his legacy of service and heroism.
This fun-filled event will consist of various dock diving challenges for dogs and their humans. Cash Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be awarded in the various events. No dog dock diving experience needed!
