American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course -2025

The American Heart Association BLS Course is recommended for health care providers and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support. The class uses realistic scenarios and simulations to cover adult, infant and child CPR as well as ventilation using a barrier device, Automated External Defibrillation and choking relief for adults and infants.

The class uses QCPR training manikins which give the American Heart Association Certified BLS instructor real-time information about how a student performs chest compressions and airway ventilation. This feedback allows instructors to relay quality information to students and offer suggestions on how to improve their technique. This reassures students they can perform high-quality CPR that will save lives.

COST: $60

REGISTRATION: Closes 1 day prior to class.

PARKING: Parking is available in the Brookings Health System/Avera Home Medical Equipment parking lot on the corner of 22nd Ave. & Yorkshire Blvd., just west of Embrace Dentistry. Please do not park in the Embrace Dentistry parking lot during business hours.

AHA Completion Card: a completion card will be sent by email from the American Heart Association approximately 3 to 4 weeks after completing the course. Make sure to check your email SPAM or junk folders when waiting for card delivery. If you do not see an email from the American Heart Association after 4 weeks, please contact your course instructor.
