“The sun shines not on us, but in us. The river flows not past us, but through us.” — John Muir
Nature has long stirred the creative spirit. In this four-part series, you’ll explore your connection to the natural world through the lens of great nature writers. Each class focuses on two influential voices whose work will inspire your own writing—whether you’re drawn to the quiet beauty of a wildflower or the silent glide of an ocean creature.
Terri Glass will introduce the biographies and styles of eight pivotal nature writers, guiding you with curated writing prompts, discussion, and time to write. Come to one session or experience the full arc of the series.
All levels welcome—whether you’re a seasoned poet, creative non-fiction writer or simply curious.
Week 2: John Muir & David Abram – The Magic of Nature
Trees & Light: Immersion Through the Senses
Engage with nature’s vitality by writing through sensory experience and ecological wonder.
