This week we were inspired by the kawaii (“cute”) aesthetic of Japan in beading, which is often cute animals. The rabbit and penguin actually share the same beaded oval base, with color placement and tiny detail differences. It uses a 6, 5, & 4 bead weave series. If you made the dodecahedron a few weeks ago, this will be fairly familiar. For those more comfortable with peyote, we have a fabulous tropical fish.
For the rabbit you will need:
- 3 colors of 11° beads
For the penguin, you will need:
- 4 colors of 11° beads
For the fish, you will need:
- 4 colors of 11° beads
- 3mm or 8° bead, 2 pieces
