Kids Event: Emma Rosen 'Our Living Soils' (Ages 4+)

Join local author Emma Rosen for a lively and educational event celebrating her latest book, Our Living Soils, sponsored by Natural England.

Through a fun and engaging reading, children will explore the fascinating world beneath their feet — discovering how soils are formed, meeting the tiny creatures that live underground, and learning why healthy soils are vital for our planet.

The session will also include drawing, colouring, and writing activities to help children connect with nature and share what they've learned in creative ways.

This is a perfect event for curious young minds who love wildlife, science, and storytelling.

Need to know info about the event and venue:

〰 Suitable for children aged 4+

〰 Event duration: 45 minutes

〰 Ticket price is £5 per child (includes a paperback copy of the book, usually £7.99) - booking is essential

〰 Additional information: the bookshop is on the 1st floor up a flight of stairs; children will sit on the floor/on chairs for the reading, then at a child’s play table & chairs or be stood around a crafting table, and will be provided with equipment including washable colouring pencils/crayons/pens depending on their age and ability. There are a couple of seats for adults who wish to attend with their children, otherwise adults will be expected to stand and watch (and join in if they like), or enjoy a lovely coffee and pastry downstairs in STAPLE.
