A week long gamelan retreat, culminating in a concert, in the beautiful village of Poolewe, on the northwest coast of Scotland.
Madam Hot Chili Gamelan resides in the lovely highland village of Poolewe in Scotland.
In collaboration with Gamelan Naga Mas (Glasgow), we've dreamed up a week of gamelan playing and space for outdoor exploration in this magical part of Scotland (wild swimming, hiking, birdwatching).
This is a low cost, co-created gamelan retreat for people with some experience of playing central Javanese Gamelan. We'll be offering a flexible program that includes traditional and creative music making, including space for people to bring new compositions or ideas for pieces to include in the concert on Friday evening.
We will share cooking of evening meals together and most afternoons are open for exploring this beautiful area or practicing more gamelan!
