On October 17th, Eden Park will be hosting a non-uniform day in support of the 2025 Shoebox Appeal. This is being done in collaboration with St Mary’s Church, Higher Brixham.
The Shoebox Appeal is a hands-on way for us to support children in need across the world by filling shoeboxes with toys, personal care items, school supplies, and fun gifts. This year’s appeal is channelled through cr2ee (Christian Response to Eastern Europe). The Shoeboxes will provide a Christmas gift to children who may not receive one.
Our aim is to bring the joy of Christmas to children across the world, so we are asking that children bring in an item or selection of items from the list below so that they can be combined into shoeboxes. Please can any donated items be new. If it is a sturdy toy, such as a toy car, then a ‘nearly new’ item would be appropriate. Please remember that it must fit inside a shoebox.
Hat, Scarf, Gloves, Socks/tights, Hairbrush, Soap, Toothpaste, Toothbrush, Shower gel Shampoo, Calculator, Colouring book, Pyjamas, Tennis ball, Felt-tip pens, Wax Crayons, Colouring pencils, Exercise books, Paint box, T-shirts, A small Cuddly toy, Pencils, Jigsaw puzzle, Torch, Biscuits, Chocolates, Sweets, Simple jewellery, Dolls, Beads, Glow sticks, Craft items, Hair clips & slides, Lip gloss, Purse, Magnifying glass, Lego brick, Toy cars, Wallet, Other simple toys for children
We are asking for an item or selection of items rather than full shoeboxes to be donated.
Please send in these items when your child comes wearing non-school uniform on Friday 17th October. The items will be collected and passed onto St Mary’s Church, who will package them into shoeboxes.
