We are thrilled to share news of the inaugural Festival of the Arts Brixham (F.A.B) taking place from 20th – 25th October 2025.
Centred around the heart of Brixham’s Cultural Quarter on Bolton Cross, F.AB is a collaboration between Brixham’s Museum, Theatre & Library and A Kick Up The Arts & The Music Factory, to highlight, celebrate and strengthen our arts and cultural sector in Brixham.
A week long programme of events will enable residents & visitors to discover, explore and engage with high-quality and varied cultural activities delivered by Brixham’s creative community.
There will be new art, live music, quizzes, life drawing, graffiti workshops, urban sketching and lots more to enjoy and will end with a massive day of exciting activities in Brixham’s cultural venues to kick off the October half term holiday
As well as aiming to bring together new & dynamic cultural partnerships and showcase intergenerational activities, F.A.B’s ethos is to celebrate the cultural and creative communities and promote Brixham as a highly valued centre of arts in the Bay.
Thanks to funding support from Brixham Town Council, the F.A.B team can shine a light on Brixham’s rich cultural heritage, show the spirit of the present cultural offerings and create new ideas and possibilities to enhance our creative community.
CREATE! PARTICIPATE! CELEBRATE!
F.A.B is creating and co-ordinating a new opportunity for Brixham’s cultural venues, creatives, participants and audiences to come together for a week of inspiration and interaction.
F.A.B will feature performing arts, visual arts & literary arts, exhibitions, artist led experiences, workshops for schools, an arts trail and arty hubs.
F.A.B wants to develop a new vibrant platform for local artists, creatives and community art groups to network & promote their work.
F.A.B aims to highlight Brixham’s eclectic shops, quirky cafes, artists, musicians, crafters and makers to boost the local creative economy and showcase the indie Brixham vibe that makes this town so unique.
F.A.B would like to encourage curiosity and connection with the micro entrepreneurs who have chosen to bring their individuality and visions to Brixham.
F.A.B hopes that residents & visitors will embrace their creative community and join this celebration of the joy of the arts in Brixham.
F.A.B would like to put a call out for participants to showcase their creativity as part of the week’s programming.
F.A.B is looking for artists, writers, musicians, drama groups, singing groups, craft groups, art groups, nanas that knit, kids that crochet, dads that draw, mums that make, people who paint, all the creative communities that want to collaborate!
Please get in touch – our deadline for finalising participants and programming is 31st July 2025
F.A.B is asking local businesses to get creative too – want to be on the creative map, want to build an app, want to be on the trail? Just send us an email!
Finally F.A.B wants everyone to please help spread the word – By bringing people together in communal spaces such as galleries, libraries, music venues, festivals, community orchestras, museums and theatres, the arts strengthens social bonds. They bridge economic and social divides, foster mutual respect, and help us better understand each other. A year round vibrant creative scene attracts visitors and investment promoting economic stability.
The arts can work their magic in Brixham.
