Royal Marines Commando Experience

Across this immersive experience, you'll train alongside serving Royal Marines, get hands-on with specialist equipment, and gain a true insight into life in one of the world’s most respected fighting forces.

Choose between Saturday, 21st or Sunday 22nd February 2026 to take part in this unforgettable experience at RMR Bristol (located in HMS Flying Fox, Winterstoke Road in Bristol). Each day will run from 08:30–17:00, with a break for lunch.

Key activities

• Get hands-on with state-of-the-art Commando weapons and kit.
• Receive training from a Royal Marines Physical Training Instructor that will assist your journey to Commando fitness.
• Test your nerve abseiling under the guidance of Commando Mountain Leaders at an iconic Bristol venue…
• Discover what it takes to earn the Green Beret, with presentations and Q&A sessions tailored for those interested joining the Royal Marines (regular and reserve).
• Speak one-on-one with serving Royal Marines for first-hand insight and advice.

What to bring

Please arrive in comfortable civilian clothing with a warm jacket. You will need:

• PT kit (trainers, t-shirt, shorts, sports socks).
• Windproof/waterproof jacket.
• Trousers.
• Warm jacket.
• Long sleeve top suitable for abseiling.
• Towel.
• Spare socks.
• Backpack/bag for clothing.
• Packed lunch or money for lunch
• Water bottle

This experience is open to:

In-flight Royal Marines candidates (pre-CPC).

UK or Commonwealth citizens considering a Royal Marines career (regular or reserve).

Students, sports club members, and physically active individuals curious to test themselves in a Commando environment

Tickets and availability

Spaces are limited to 80 attendees per day, so early booking is recommended.

Participants must sign the liability waiver as part of registration. Registration cannot be completed until this waiver is submitted.

Participants must be aged 16+ and UK or Commonwealth citizens.
