Join us for a workshop to glaze a Ceramic Bowl at THE BRISTOL BAZAAR.
You will begin with an 8 inch bowl in bisque and you will apply glazes to it. We will share 2 different methods to achieve a “peacock type design”. The “peacock type designs” are very easy to achieve with only a few colors and some water or a product called “cascade”.
If you want a different design, we will also assist you. We want you to do whatever design you want in whatever colors you want. Art is about unleashing what’s in your heart; it’s not about following instructions.
Since we will be using glazes in this workshop, once your piece has been glazed to your liking, we will be taking it to a kiln where it will be fired. You will be surprised with what will come back – the colors will become much more vivid and fluid and the piece will have a smooth, glassy coating – it will be both beautiful and functional!!
The firing process will take us up to 2-3 weeks, but we will let you know as soon as it’s out of the kiln and we will make arrangements to get you your piece.
The cost of the workshop is $45. This includes everything: the bisque, a vast array of basic glazes, speciality design glazes, clear glaze, the kiln firing and all the tools necessary to make a functional bowl – perfect for pasta or whatever you like.
