Devizes Wireless Station

This was an experimental early 20th century radio facility using the new Marconi technology, intended to be part of a world-wide ‘Imperial Wireless chain’ communications network linking London and the Empire. The vast local aerial north of Swindon was aimed at Egypt. Not much left on the ground now, but David has done extensive research and ground archaeology.
