'Curators on Curating' is your chance to meet and hear from experienced art curators, from insights on their practice through shared insights to individual projects, ranging from landmark museum exhibitions to touring shows and contemporary commissions.
Introduced by Dr Kathryn Johnson, Head of Exhibitions at the RWA. The line up includes:
🟡 Katherine Jewkes – Multi-award winning Freelance Consultant, Curator & current Creative Director of the Bristol Light Festival
🔵 Dr Zehra Jumabhoy – Art Historian, Writer, Curator, Lecturer. Co-curator of the 2024 RWA exhibition, Rasheed Araeen: Conscious Forms
🟢 Freeny Yianni - Curator and founder of CLOSE Gallery. Co-Chairman of the charity Somerset Art Works (SAW). Previous selector for the RWA 171 Annual Open Exhibition
🟠 James Russell - Author, Art Historian and Curator. Curator of 2024/25 exhibition, ‘Tirzah Garwood: Beyond Ravilious at the Dulwich Picture Gallery.’
Afterwards, take the chance to mingle and ask questions with a drink in hand and enjoy the 172 Annual Open Exhibition.
