Happy New Year! We had our first Parents Who Pray Meet Up this week and decided we want to do brunch together and support an amazing local business and mission, The Ivy Table.
ALL are welcome! You do not have to be a part of the PWP group or have attended a meeting in the past. This is a fellowship brunch, meaning we will just gather for community and to get to know each other. :) Invite a friend. Come just because. Can't wait to see you!
About The Ivy Table:
Our name, The Ivy Table, was very carefully chosen. The "ivy" plant symbolizes faithfulness (faith), resilience (hope), and friendship (love). We see "the table" as a place of provision. Literally, it is where we eat, but spiritually it is a place of fellowship, communion, and acceptance.
We were founded on the bible verse Matthew 23:35, which says, “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in”. It is our mission to use food and biblical hospitality to build community, provide hope, and share love with those around us. This type of servant-based hospitality involves loving those who may be different than we are. It involves selflessly, generously, and joyfully giving to those who are hurting financially, physically, mentally, or spiritually. It aims to make everyone feel seen, heard, and valued.
We have witnessed on many occasions the power that a simple meal can have. Meals not only provide the physical nourishment that our bodies require, but they can also fill us emotionally and spiritually. Our ministry works to feed faith, hope, and love to the hungry and hurting worldwide.
