Do you want to feel more confident to help someone who might be experiencing a mental health problem?
Mental Health First Aid will introduce you to tangible ways to assist people you may see struggling with their mental health.
We are now taking expressions of interest to participate in this FREE course to be held in November.
This will be delivered by Nick McEwan-Hall, The Mental Health Coach.
This course will be presented as a hybrid model. There will be a component of e-learning at home and a one day in person workshop on Tuesday, 18 November at The Pavilion in Bright.
After receipt of your EOI we will be in touch during October for registrations and commitment to the course. Please note, this course is not suitable for people aged under 18 years.
This workshop is presented for residents of the Alpine Shire through funding by the State of Victoria through Emergency Recovery Victoria's Community Recovery Hubs grant program and the Australian Government in response to the October 2022 Flood and Landslip which impacted Alpine Shire Communities.
What is Mental Health First Aid training and accreditation?
While MHFA courses come in many different formats, they all include the same evidence-based knowledge, relevant, useful skills and mental health awareness training.
As a counterpart to physical first aid, they aim to enable people to provide early or emergency aid, and help introduce topics about mental wellbeing to make workplaces, schools and groups of people safer.
Mental Health First Aid courses are Australian-founded while providing internationally recognised accreditation, and are based on scientific evidence and the lived-experience of people with mental health problems.
