6 week course starting at St.Swithun's Church Hall.

The Menopause can be a challenging time for us women with many symptoms which will differ from person to person.

We are likely to put on weight, loose muscle mass and bone strength, suffer from anxiety and depression. We have an increased risk of osteoporosis, diabetes and cardio vascular disease, but evidence shows that certain types of exercise can make a huge difference to symptoms, and can help reduce the health risks of post menopause.

What to expect with my classes:- A combination of cardio and strength exercises such as squats, lunges, push/pull, rotation, using weights such as kettlebells, dumbbells or using the TRX (suspension training) for body weight exercises, multidirectional movement, and basically what women want which is toning of legs, bums and abdominals. I use a Pilates method of teaching in relation to alignment and stability, and will include balance and pelvic floor exercises. More importantly, we will become a support network of like minded women, sharing information about what works for us! and perhaps getting together socially every now and then.

I have been a Fitness Instructor and Personal trainer for about 16 years, am 56 years old and experienced Peri-Menopausal symptoms for over 10 years, but now Post Menopause and collecting my own experience of symptoms. I am an advanced trainer in Kettlebells, STOTT Pilates trained in London, Yoga Instructor, Level 4 Mental Health, Obesity and Diabetes and Cardiac Rehab (amongst many other qualifications) and more recently have completed CPD's in Exercise Strategy for Menopause, Nutrition for Menopause and Pelvic Balance.
