Intelligent Information Retrieval for CJIS: An AI and Search Workshop

This will be a hands-on workshop-style training that dives into topics around AI, LLMs, NLP, and search tailored for a CJIS audience. Held at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Bridgeport, this workshop is being presented by Jeff Zemerick, an industry expert in AI, NLP, search, and cloud technologies, in association with Agile5 Technologies, Inc.

Whether you are new to leveraging AI and LLMs in your work or have some experience, this workshop will connect you with your peers working on similar problems and give you a head start on using AI and LLMs to implement, evaluate, and maintain search and AI solutions.

We will use technologies such as Amazon Bedrock, OpenSearch, and Apache OpenNLP to design and build data processing and data search solutions. Learn best practices around evaluating AI and search applications and running them in production.

Jeff is an expert in NLP, AI, cloud, and search. As chair of the Apache OpenNLP project, Jeff contributes code and and time to the open source project to help others build capable NLP applications. Jeff has over 15 years of experience building cloud applications in AWS, and today is fully AWS certified having passed all available (15!) AWS certifications. He has written questions for the AWS certification exams and helped companies build Well-Architected cloud applications. Jeff is an active community member in the OpenSearch project and maintainer of the OpenSearch UBI project which helps provide search relevance capabilities in OpenSearch. Jeff has mentored two semesters of students at WVU's Data Driven WV program in the area of search relevance.
