Because spooking isn’t random. It isn’t your horse being dramatic. And it definitely isn’t you being useless.
Sometimes it’s pain.

And if we don’t know which one we’re dealing with… we end up frustrated, or scared, or both. I’ve been there. I’ve done the tight smile and the “it’s fine” while quietly questioning my life choices.
