2 Day Creative Lighting and Posing in Any Location with Rick Friedman

This creative lighting and posing workshop will take you through beautiful lighting from single strobe and progressing through multiple strobe set ups, to gain the desired lighting effect. We will add different types of light modifiers, such as soft boxes, strip lights, grids, umbrellas, diffusers, reflectors, and color gels into our photographs. Throughout the workshop we will teach interesting ideas for posing your models and other tricks to have your subject give the desired look.

Day 1: Will include light painting, using smoke to make your images more dramatic, and projecting backgrounds to make your background a lot more interesting. Day 1: Learn Studio Shooting at The Photo Center

Day 2: Outdoor Portraits in Red BankWe'll explore Red Bank, stopping at local businesses to practice outdoor portrait techniques using natural light, strobes, reflectors, and scrims, which is perfect for creating beautifully balanced or creatively dramatic lighting on location.

Throughout the workshop, Rick will share many of his lighting techniques developed over decades as a portrait and magazine photographer. He'll cover essential tips, including how to choose the right lens to achieve the specific look you're after.

During this two-day seminar, you'll be working hands-on with Geekoto lighting equipment and Tamron lenses.

If you have always wanted to learn photographic lighting in studio and on location, this is your workshop.

Bring your camera, lenses, and flash, and we will bring our studio and portable strobes for you to work with.
