🏕️ Viking Age Encampment at Junefaire

Join The Glamfolk in building a large-scale, immersive Viking Age living history encampment at Junefaire, a weekend-long SCA event. We invite all members of the Northwest Viking Alliance and select other reenactors to collaborate in creating a vibrant Norse village for the public during the Kitsap Medieval Faire on Saturday, June 21, from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
🛠️ Setup & Event Access
Early Setup Begins: Thursday, June 19, at 12:00 PM
(Exclusive early access for our group—take advantage of the head start!)
Encampment Duration: Friday–Sunday, June 20–22
Public Demonstration: Saturday, June 21, from 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM
(The encampment should be fully staffed and active during public hours.)
🌿 Our Goal
To present a dynamic, historically informed Viking Age village through hands-on interpretation, craft demonstration, and immersive public engagement. This is a unique opportunity to share our passion for Norse history with a wide audience.
🏛️ Encampment Atmosphere
Participants are encouraged to help set the scene by bringing as many Viking Age tents and structures as possible. We have an expansive area—three times the size of the Poulsbo site—with nearby dedicated parking and entry across the street on Nels Nelson Road.
Every canvas tent, lean-to, display table, and carved detail contributes to the ambiance and enhances the immersive experience.
🔥 Demonstration Opportunities
Hands-on, interactive displays encouraged – invite visitors to explore and try
Charcoal and live-fire cooking permitted – demonstrate Viking culinary practices
Blacksmithing and forging allowed – bring your tools and skills
Combat, storytelling, textile work, woodworking, and more
We welcome a wide variety of historical skills and crafts that reflect the richness of Viking Age daily life.
