AI Pioneers: AI and the Future of Education - Final Conference

How is artificial intelligence (AI) changing the vocational education and training (VET) and adult education today and in the future?

AI in the world of work and in VET practice has the potential to transform VET and adult education in many ways, such as through the personalisation of learning, simulations and virtual reality (VR), but also by relieving the workload of routine tasks through AI systems. At the same time, the networking of relevant stakeholders at the level of education policy is being promoted by public funds in order to focus on cross-border networking as a relevant feature, which should increasingly support exchange and cooperation across national borders.

The AI Pioneers Final Conference 2025, entitled: AI and the Future of Education, in Bremen (Germany) is dedicated to these topics, among others, against the background of practice-oriented considerations on the one hand, and empirical studies conducted in the field of AI on the other hand.

This exemplary innovative progress gives rise to requirements for action at various levels in VET and adult education, e.g., in relation to teaching/learning content, work processes, competences and design decisions. With the AI Pioneers Final Conference 2025, we want to create a space to highlight the potential of AI in VET and adult education, to rethink it, to discuss challenges together and at the same time to shape the future of AI in VET and adult education as well as to create new development paths. In this respect, the idea of networking should also be taken into consideration and a space for new network structures should be created.

Against this background, the AI Pioneers Final Conference 2025 will focus on the following questions:

• What research exists in the field of AI in VET and adult education?
• Which theoretical developments could be of interest for VET and adult education?
• What examples of best practice are recognisable in practice?
• What skills requirements arise from AI in the work environment?
