RIP Van Winklette is the alter-ego of a seasoned sound artist and former community radio host Marva Jackson Lord, who has been weaving eclectic soundscapes since the 1980s. Known for adventurous sets that slip between genres, spanning reggae, funk, rock, experimental, African rhythms, and underground spoken word, she brings the same energy that once fuelled her decade as a DJ in Toronto's music scene to the dance floor today. Her style is playful, layered, and surprising: expect deep cuts, unexpected blends, and a touch of poetry between the beats.
