Fungi Forays: Edible & Medicinal Mushrooms with Justin Garner

Join mushroom maestro Justin Garner to learn more about the strange and wonderful diversity of mushrooms!

During each outing, the group will spend time in the field looking for and collecting mushrooms. Then, we'll gather around the picnic tables to admire and learn about the harvest. If good edibles are available, we will prepare some to sample.

Justin Garner has studied botany, plant chemistry, human physiology, and biochemistry. He is an educational rockstar in terms of nourishing, medicinal, and toxic properties of our diverse fungi.

This course will include:

• Mushroom identification skills

• Ethical and safe foraging practices

• Key edible and medicinal species

• Time in the woods exploring and collecting

• Prep and sampling in the kitchen!

Course cost:
$20 to BEEC members
$25 to non-members
