🌶️The Bratislava City Museum, in cooperation with the Bratislava City Council, invites you to the community event (NOT) YOUR SPICES.
🌶️The aim of this event is to challenge stereotypical ideas about people with migration experience and to open the question of who cultural institutions are for today.
📚 Our intention is to create a safe space for meeting people with migration backgrounds whose stories are an important yet often overlooked part of our history. 🌮 Together we will actively listen to each other, educate one another, and foster collective respect.
🗣️ The programme includes a performative reading with Kvet Nguyen, an interpreted guided tour of the exhibition Biographies of People and Things, a discussion on multicultural Bratislava, and a workshop on blending oriental spices. In addition, you can look forward to traditional international street food and refreshing drinks.
💃We will close the event with a dance party featuring a Turkish singer, a Mexican dance ensemble, and an Indian DJ in the courtyard.

📚 Našou snahou je vytvoriť bezpečný priestor 🤝 na stretnutie ľudí s migračným pozadím, ktorých príbehy sú dôležitou, no často prehliadanou súčasťou našej histórie. Spoločne sa budeme aktívne počúvať, navzájom vzdelávať a kolektívne rešpektovať 🫱🏼🫲🏾
