Take the next step in your improv journey.
You’ve laughed, you’ve played, and you’ve had a great time in improv classes. Now you’re thinking: “I love improv… and I want to get better.” If that’s you, this lab is for you.
Improv Lab is a focused 12-week small-group training program for improvisers who want to go deeper into the art and craft of improvisation — and get the coaching, structure, and support needed to grow.
We’ll work on the stuff that makes scenes actually land: honest connection, clear relationships, playable characters, emotional truth, story sense, engaging to watch, and ensemble trust.
Across 12 sessions, we’ll train the pillars of strong improv:
- Listening + stage presence
- Playable character (not just a gimmick or punchlines)
- Being a supportive scene partner
- Emotion + stakes (without forcing drama)
- Relationship dynamics (status, tension, affection, history)
- Scene clarity / scene work (who / what / where / why)
- Story instincts + editing
- Ensemble play (supporting, heightening, connecting worlds)
We’ll also explore mid-form and long-form formats (including narrative / theatrical forms) — how to play them as an ensemble, and how to keep the work grounded, fun, and audience-ready.
Because the group is small, you’ll get specific coaching and feedback you can apply immediately.
At the end of the program, we’ll do a final showcase with the ensemble to celebrate what you’ve learned.
This lab is for you if:
- you’re not a beginner (you’ve already taken some improv classes)
- you want to go deeper and grow faster
- you’re ready to show up consistently
- you aspire to perform on stage
- you want feedback that helps you improve
- you care about connection, craft, and ensemble — not just “being funny”
- you want meet others who share your goals
Improv Lab FAQ
Q: I just want a fun, relaxing session after work — is this that kind of class?
A: It’s definitely fun, but it’s also focused training. If you want something more casual/playful and beginner-friendly, join our Monday Short Form or Thursday Open Training — those are designed as a safe playground to play, laugh, and meet people.
Q: How is this different from Monday Short Form / Thursday Open Training?
A: Monday and Thursday are open-format classes — great for fundamentals, fun, playfulness, and community.
Improv Lab is a committed ensemble work with structured progression, deeper coaching, and training that builds week to week — especially for people who want to perform more seriously on stage and develop as an ensemble.
Q: I’m not confident in English. Is this still for me?
A: Definitely. The lab runs in English, but many of our players are non-native speakers. We focus on clear communication, physicality, and connection — not fancy vocabulary. And when needed, you may have bilingual scene partners who can support you in Slovak or Ukrainian.
