🗓 When: Wednesday, 22 October
🕐 Time: 13:30
📍 Where: Room 94, Institute for Sociology, Slovak Academy of Sciences
🗣 Language: English
🎙 Speaker: Bence Kováts (Institute for Sociology of SAS)
📘 Topic: Attempts to Mitigate Housing Crises and Fertility Decline: The Long-term Development of European Housing Family Policies
Abstract:
Despite a wide variety of measures addressing the housing problems of families with children, the housing dimension of family policy has received little attention in comparative social policy research. The research project "Housing Families“ seeks to address this gap by conducting a leximetric analysis of 100 years of legislation on housing subsidies for families with children in eight European countries: Belgium, Bulgaria, Czechia, France, Germany, Hungary, Russia, and Slovakia. The presentation situates the main developments in policy types and targeting within the broader political, economic, and demographic transformations that have shaped policy-making in this field.
