Veľkou udalosťou na metalcorovej scéne bol návrat AS I LAY DYING v roku 2018 v pôvodnej zostave. Tim Lambesis založil kapelu v San Diegu v roku 2000 a odvtedy pod hlavičkou AILD vzniklo osem albumov, jeden split a dve kompilácie. Hudba AS I LAY DYING je charakteristická nezabudnuteľne silnými, napriek tomu hráčsky náročnými melódiami, ovplyvnenými škandinávskym metalom. Koncerty Američanov sú povestné svojou energiou, výbušné pasáže skladieb privádzajú publikum do varu , rovnako ako aj silné a vkusné refrény. Skrátka metalcore ako stvorený pre pódiá !
