Royal Icing Made Simple: Fix Your Consistency and Level Up Your Cookies
Want to get better at decorating cookies but can’t seem to figure out the royal icing? Maybe your icing is too runny, too stiff, won’t set, or just never looks as smooth as the videos. If you want clean, professional, sellable cookies, you need to master this part first.
In this workshop, we walk through the entire royal icing process, step by step:
mixing the ingredients, thinning to the right consistency, coloring without messing up texture, filling piping bags, and using each consistency the right way while decorating. You will learn how to avoid the most common beginner mistakes so your cookies finally look the way you want them to.
Each person will decorate six cookies in class, but the real focus is helping you understand royal icing so you get consistent, predictable results every time. You will work on improving outlining and flooding, learn simple wet on wet techniques, and use pattern designs that will make your cookies look polished and professional. This class is ideal for any level of cookie decorators and for those considering selling cookies for extra income. Recipes will be provided.
Recommended for ages 12 and up. Anyone under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
