As part of Ontario Culture Days, this hands-on workshop invites youth and families to learn about the legend of the Jade Rabbit by creating paper lanterns inspired by moonlight, rabbits, and celebration. explores the significance of food in Mid-Autumn Festival traditions. This joyful, family-friendly workshop encourages imagination, storytelling, and community building. All materials provided; just bring your creativity!
This session invites creativity and cultural reflection while teaching the basics of paper layering and cut-out techniques. Registration is recommended to secure your spot, but drop-ins are welcome if space allows. Light refreshments will be provided.
Moon & Memory is a vibrant, intergenerational series of hands-on art workshops celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival through storytelling, food, folklore, and community. Led by illustrator Meegan Lim, the series offers creative ways to connect with East and Southeast Asian heritage across four unique sessions.

Lead Facilitator
Meegan Lim is an illustrator and arts facilitator whose work bridges visual storytelling with community engagement. Drawing inspiration from her East and Southeast Asian heritage, she creates art that celebrates food, culture, and shared experiences. Meegan’s workshops are rooted in accessibility, creativity, and connection, and she has led programs for festivals, schools, and cultural organizations across the GTA.
Assistant Facilitator
Sabbie Narwal is a Brampton-based illustrator specializing in traditional and digital media, as well as multimedia art. Her warm and whimsical style uplifts and comforts, often highlighting the gentle joy of everyday life through themes of food, nature, and her South Asian heritage. Sabbie’s mural work explores rich local community stories, adding depth to her creative practice. She is also the founder of The Paper Narwhal, an art goods brand focused on accessible, inspiring stationery and illustrated gifts.
