Black Mother, Black Daughter (1989) is a documentary short mapping the lineages of Black women in Nova Scotia, their contributions and the centrality of community, church and family in preserving the ties of kinship and identity.
Seven Shades of Pale (1989) is a documentary short which visits different Black communities across Nova Scotia - highlighting the reflections of Black youth and elders on Black life.
The event will take place in Meeting Room 1 with refreshments provided. The films will be preceded by a short introduction on the National Film Board of Canada and followed by a short break and facilitated group discussion by program curator, Iman Bundu.
This program is presented with the support of the Brampton Arts Organization.
