Many of us grew up with little guidance on how to navigate emotions. Times are changing and we are learning that feelings are a normal part of being human. Most of us are going through life while learning how to navigate our feelings and emotions.
Art offers a healthy way to express challenging emotions. In this series of classes, we will explore a wide range of feelings from happiness to anger to grief.
Each week Abigail will choose a subject that evokes an emotion and participants will create art based on the feelings that rise up within them. After their artwork is complete, there will be time to discuss what they have created and the feelings that came up.
A wide range of materials will be available for use: magazines, paints (acrylic and watercolor), canvas, pencils, markers, crayons, paper, glue, stickers, scissors, etc. If you have extra crafting materials that you would like to bring to use or share during class, feel free to bring them.
**Please note: Whole this is a therapeutic experience, it is NOT therapy. Continue any therapy or counseling you are already engaged in.**
Pre-registration is not required but appreciated. The fee is $20 per class to help cover cost of materials and use of the space.
This class is once a month. You do not have to attend class each month if you choose not to.
