Handbags of Hope: BWG Packing Party

Join the Bradford Women's+ Group on Sunday, November 30 for our final Handbags of Hope campaign gathering of the year! We'll be packing beautiful handbags with essentials and thoughtful notes to be donated to , a local charity that offers practical support to individuals who are leaving situations of violence, abuse or crisis, moving into housing, or starting over after trauma.

We'll have snacks, music, and everything you need to help pack. You're welcome to bring a few last minute items or anything you need to support your participation.

We respectfully limit participation in this event to women+ (people who self-identify as women, gender non-confirming, non-binary, or gender-questioning) who are ages 18 and older, and youth ages 12+ (who can earn volunteer hours for helping out!).

The Bradford Women's+ Group is a grassroots, volunteer-led community group on a mission to make our communities a better place for women through sessions, events, community campaigns, and advocacy that is focused on inclusion, wellness and personal development, and leadership development.

Participation in our Community Events

When we come together as a group, we are all responsible for working together to co-create a safer space. Please join us in making the commitment to be respectful, inclusive, and non-judgmental in our shared space.

We're grateful to be hosted at the Bradford West Gwillimbury Public Library, a welcoming, accessible community space with free parking, free Wi-Fi, and tons of resources from books to creative tools to programs for all ages. Outside the main doors, you'll also find the Bradford Community Fridge. All are welcome to drop off donations or access food and essentials from the fridge, 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.
