Rise and shine! Let's meet shortly after sunrise and go for a casual hike at Robinson Preserve, a wonderful example of restored coastal wetland habitat.
Our hike will lead us along the Osprey Loop with a short stop at the observation tower followed by some spectacular boardwalks. Next we will hit the Tern Trail, an out and back trail that includes a fascinating Strangler Fig Tree. We will also check out the "Expansion" which includes the Eagle Loop, a pedestrian-only rubberized trail that will be easy on your knees.
Total length of the hike will be 6.1 miles. We will hike at a casual pace, this will be a social event and no race. Expect the hike to last about 2.5 to 3 hours depending on the length of the breaks.
There will be little shade on the trails. Please wear sunscreen and bring along sufficient water. A snack is always a good idea.
As always, if you have questions or need directions, you can contact us at (917)774-0941.
