Wed 9/24, Intro to Watercolor: Pet Portraits, 6:30-9:30pm

In this new art class, watercolor artist Madison Kutz will teach you how to have fun and paint confidently with watercolor! You will learn essential techniques including color mixing, a quick refresher on color theory, how to do a wash, how to avoid bleeds, and a discussion on the best tools to use. You will have plenty of time to experiment with these techniques and become familiar with your supplies. The main project of the class will then give you an opportunity to use what you've learned and render your pet in watercolor! During this time, Madison will come around to each person and offer individual guidance and answer any questions you may have. Perfect for beginners and watercolor enthusiasts alike, this class will give you the opportunity to connect with fellow creatives and swap pet stories as you paint your perfect fur baby!

Supplies Needed: Please bring a few photos of a pet. Two ticket options, one includes a take home watercolor kit to keep painting at home (paper, paints & brushes)

Artist Bio: Madison Kutz went to school for Fine Arts at Allegheny College, before she transferred to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Media Arts and Animation. Her artistic work stretches across digital, fiber, and traditional mediums to focus on community and sustainability. She is a constant knitter, dedicated sweater darner, animator, and painter, among many other things.
