About the event

More Than Corn? A History of Wood County's Specialty Crops
Let us know youre coming! RSVP/Registration Required: https://reservations.woodcountyparkdistrict.org/programs/10592/

Wood County is an agricultural powerhouse. It ranks fifth in the state based on crop sales, with more than 260,000 acres in rotation! Local farmers bring millions of bushels of soybeans, corn, and wheat to market annually.

Beyond these sprawling fields of iconic commodities, however, lie large swaths of fruits and vegetables that diversify the region's holdings. From peppers and cucumbers to tomatoes and strawberries, join us to explore the history of these unique specialty crops and their continued cultivation today.
