Wilderness First Aid Course

A wilderness first aid course will take you well beyond traditional first aid. Learn to adapt first aid techniques to backcountry traumas with only the equipment on-hand. Topics include patient assessment, bleeding control, injury care and prevention, evacuations, and long-term care.

Highly recommended for trip leaders, camp counselors, backcountry guides and professionals who work in remote areas where resources are limited.

The course format is short lectures, labs, and realistic practice scenarios in a wilderness setting. Students will have the opportunity to master the core concepts and skills of wilderness medicine and the confidence to use it in a real setting. This 2-year certification is a must for anyone who recreates in the backcountry, or works in the outdoors.
