Since its charter, the Iota Chapter has been the birthplace of many phenomenal women and excellent programs. One of our signature programs, Jabberwock, was established in 1925 by Soror Marion Hope Conover as a unique means of raising scholarship funds. From this successful venture, Delta’s Jabberwock was born and became part of Delta tradition. The Iota Chapter's annual production was adopted and copyrighted by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated on December 28, 1947, and since then, innumerable Jabberwocks have been produced by Deltas in both the United States and abroad.
The historic Jabberwock has been reimagined by our chapter as Crimson Café, continuing its legacy of supporting the arts and scholarship. This year’s Crimson Café will be hosted at Northeastern University on October 11, 2025, with the theme “The 9 Muses: Celebrating 100 Years of The Jabberwock.” As always, the event will serve as a fundraiser supporting the arts and providing scholarships to students in need, continuing the purpose that has always grounded this celebration.
