About this Event

Class Description

Patternmaking 101 will teach students how to create basic pattern blocks and how they are used to make stylized personal patterns. Students will learn what body measurements they need to draft a skirt pattern, how those measurements translate into pattern shapes, and how to recognize style and body shape relationships.

The materials fee for this class is $40. This is separate from the ticket price and is to reimburse the instructor for any tools or materials used in this class. This will be paid once, directly to the instructor at the start of the first class meeting. This instructor accepts Cash or Venmo.

Learning Objectives
  • Draft a basic skirt pattern.
  • Learn how to create your own pattern block.
  • Picking the best fabric for your skirt to ensure proper technique in spreading and cutting out the pattern.
  • Discuss construction that can be used for this type of clothing and equipment for making it.
