Set in a dinner cabaret format at China Pearl, Maybe Our Beginning brings together local AAPI superstar performers and a curated lineup of musical theatre repertoire that speaks to the journey, the fight, and the heart of claiming space in an industry that too often overlooks us.
For one night only, China Pearl transforms into a stage — meet AAPI star performers while savoring the flavors of community that have sustained us all along. Each ticket tier includes a plated dinner inspired by classic Chinese banquet traditions, celebrating the art of gathering, sharing, and belonging.
From Broadway classics reimagined through new perspectives to original AAPI musical works, this gala is both a performance and a call to action — affirming that Asian American stories belong on every stage.
All proceeds directly support CHUANG Stage’s year-round programming, advancing visibility, equity, and authorship for Asian American artists in Boston and beyond. Together, we’ll raise a glass — and our voices — to the artists and communities who continue to feed the future of American theatre.
