GenAI: Your New Work Spouse

Generative AI has shifted from novelty to necessity in industry workflows, particularly in software development and data science. Engineers now use AI copilots to speed coding, automate documentation, debug complex systems, scaffold pipelines, and handle stakeholder communication. This workshop opens with key industry use cases—from rapid prototyping and exploratory data analysis to production-ready pipelines. Then, students will dive into guided activities mirroring real-world consulting work: clarifying vague requirements, generating starter code, and spotting pitfalls. We’ll close with a live demo showing how GenAI boosts collaboration and iteration, followed by Q&A. By the end, students will understand how GenAI is reshaping professional practice—and how they can leverage it thoughtfully in their own projects.
