FPAC Harbor Harmonies Concert: Echos Without Borders

Accordionist Mattias Kaufmann and pianist Hua Ye met through a shared passion for world music that transcends the boundaries of classical and jazz traditions. Together, they explore a rich palette of global sounds — from the intricate modes of Greek traditional music to the passionate expressions of Argentinian tango, and from evocative neoclassical textures to their own original compositions.

Blending improvisation with cultural storytelling, they are shaping a unique musical language that they dubbed as “Boston Folk” — a genre-fluid conversation between cultures, rooted in tradition yet constantly evolving. Their collaboration invites audiences on a journey through soundscapes that are at once intimate, expansive, and borderless.
