Calling all newbies to the pottery wheel!
Learn the fundamentals of centering your clay on the wheel and crafting your very own bowl or vessel. No experience required, this class is designed for all skill levels! Attendees will chose their favorite 3 pieces to keep from the class! All pieces made in class will need 3 weeks to dry and be kiln-fired. Once fired, return to the studio to glaze them yourself during walk-in hours for no additional fee. All pottery will be made using high-quality, microwave and dishwasher safe, stoneware clay. Minimum age is 13 years. Tickets are nonrefundable.
During the class, the instructor will go over the basics, give you a short demonstration, and answer any questions, as well as come around and offer assistance or suggestions.
Important Details:
-Wheel throwing is a bit messy (it IS mud!), so we highly recommend not wearing anything you wouldn’t want to get clay on and bringing a hand towel to class. Be ready to get a lil’ messy. Aprons will be provided.
-Long hair must be tied back and hand jewelry must be removed. No heels, please!
-Space is limited, only 6 students per session.
-Minimum age is 13 years. All under age 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
-All pottery not picked up within 60 days will be subjected to donation.
