Welcome to the 3rd Annual High Country Grains Gathering! Free Entry!
The High Country is blessed with a robust local food system; the area has an abundance of regional grown vegetables, meats, and fruits. However, have you ever noticed that we are limited in the amount of North Carolina grown grains we have access to (bread wheats, rice, flours, oats, corn, and others?) We sure have!
At the market-style event, you will be able to connect with NC plant breeders, farmers, millers, chefs, and other grain producers as you shop and learn about the history, current happenings, and future of grain production in our food system. You will be able to stock your pantry with local flours and grain products, while participating in sourdough, pasta, and tortilla demonstrations, all while enjoying fresh pastries, breads, and bagels from local bakers.
