"Different Johns" Film Screening and Discussion

Join us for an evening celebration of the life of multi-talented musician, filmmaker, photographer, musicologist, anthropologist, and educator, John Cohen (1932 – 2019) in conjunction with the exhibition Image & Music: John Cohen on view at the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts through December 13, 2025.
Different Johns, a FRUITBAT/FOLKSCARE film directed by Robert Carr about the many facets of John Cohen’s life will be screened during the First Friday events on October 3 at 5 PM in the TCVA lecture hall.

Following the film screening, artist and educator Tom Hansell and musician and music scholar Becks Lipshultz, will respond to the film and answer questions from the audience.
