There’s nothing cozier than spending an afternoon working hard to remove invasive species alongside fellow outdoor enthusiasts — then warming up with a cup of hot chocolate as you admire the progress you’ve made for Iowa’s conservation!
Join us at Snyder Heritage Farm (just 10 minutes northeast of Ankeny) to help clear invasive brush and restore native habitat.
Winter is the perfect time to get outside: no bugs, no humidity, and no thick summer growth to battle. Enjoy the crisp air and the quiet beauty of the prairie.
This volunteer day offers a special opportunity to explore an area not usually open to the public — a hidden gem near the Des Moines metro featuring prairie, wetland, woodland, and oak savanna habitats. Come for the work, stay for the warm, cozy feeling of giving back to nature!
