It is hard to believe that we are prepping for our fall event! Where did the summer go? But prepping we are, and the excitement builds. Making lists, throwing pots, firing kilns and filling the shelves. The cycle of clay.

After giving it a try last year, of opening the event back up for walk in…. we will be going back to booking a preferred time to come and attend the showcase. All of you lovely people showed up at the same time and it was a bit overcrowded to say the least. Lol…so Friday and Saturday will be booked times and then Sunday will be open to wander in when you feel the urge. It will allow for twenty people to move comfortably around the showcase and be able to see all the amazing works created by the artisans. Very civilized…..lol.

I always struggle with the feeling that I need to have something ‘new’ on the shelves for a show. And there usually is something that one of my brilliant customers has said…..can you make me this? But as I look through my past inventories, I realize that most are looking for the tried and true. The comfort items. Bowls of all shapes and sizes to fill with delightful consumables, plates and trays to load up with holiday treats to share with loved ones and of course the perfect mug. There is nothing more comforting than that perfect mug that nestles in your hand and warms you. Or the mug you give that becomes the only mug to be used. So, there will be something new on the shelves, but you can be assured that the shelves will be filled with all the pieces we create that you have come to know and love.

As well as all our many pottery items, the studio will be filled with fine handcrafted work from all our talented artisan friends. We are excited to say that we have some new artisans joining us this showcase. Woven Dreams Fibre Arts Studio is joining us for her first Christmas Showcase. She brought us a few of her unbelievably soft, hand woven cotton tea towels in the spring, but they disappeared so fast, most of you didn’t even get to see them. We have ensured that there are going to be lots to choose from this time. We are also pleased to welcome Twisted Sister Metalworks. You will delight in these organic tree forms created from twisted wire. Such a dichotomy….taking the stiff usually unmoving material of metal and creating an organic form of nature.

Cailey Mrochuk Art is a very talented mosaic artist who will be bringing a selection of delightful tiny mosaics works. Cailey works not just in glass but also mixes it up with stone…..and you might just see some pottery in there too! Ritchie Velthuis, visual artist, will be bringing his funky little bugs that will make you smile. Whether you choose a pin to wear or a magnet for your fridge…I don’t think you will be able to pick just one.

Jolioli Design is an exceptionally creative sewer. If you have bought her hand towels before, you will be back for more. They are the perfect hostess gift, and the fabric choices are endless. She will also be bringing greeting cards…because not only can this lady sew….but she can draw.

Our two jewelry artisans will be back, Aafke with unique bead and precious stone earring and Carols Creations with silver wire earrings and bracelets. One for a gift and one for you….fairs fair. If you are thinking warm for the upcoming season, alpaca mitts, socks, scarves and hats will tempt you. And the DIYers will always find that perfect skein of yarn for their next project. Peeters Pride Alpacas are a tried and true regular at the show.

We have a nice variety of tasty treats. Jams by Coronado Farms are a definite long running favourite with jams and jellies made from local fruit. Wouldn’t be Christmas without fudge from Prairie Gardens. You know that you can freeze it to keep for Christmas. Good luck with that…..lol… it might not even make it home it is so tempting. Nuts About You will be back with her tasty nuts just perfect for stocking stuffers or entertaining. Who am I kidding….or for your own indulgence. Fresh roasted and always an amazing selection of flavours. Local chocolatier Au Chocolat, Tammy MacDonald from Morinville, will delight you with her beautiful and tasty bon bons. Such elegance and amazing flavour profiles.

Westmount Soap Co. will ensure that we are clean and smelling great for all the holiday events coming up. Our artisans have you covered for the perfect stocking stuffer.

Toulas House of Clay shows off something new every showcase, and it will be no different this time. As always, her clay trees, wee houses and Christmas decorations will make your holiday decorating magical. Rosa Pinzauti will have original paintings ranging from small bookmarks and cards to large canvases to grace your living room walls. Our stain glass artisan is creating glass works to sparkle on your tree or brighten up your windows. Looking to fill the room with a gentle scent? S&J Candles have just what you are needing. Their holiday scents go fast, so come early for the best selection.

A snuggle up cozy bowl buddy sewn by McMurt Creations is the perfect way to keep your hands cool while eating a bowl of something warm in front of your favourite movie. This year she has created a Canadiana line. And last, but absolutely not least, we always cater to our furry friends, and ensure there is a fine selection of tasty treats from Tilted Barn Pet Co.
As always, we will be collecting for our local food bank. Please bring along a non perishable food item or cash donation, and we will put your name into a draw. I would like to say, that our food bank is so very grateful for your generosity. Bring along your own reusable bag to carry your purchases home in and your name will be entered to win two mugs.

We are delighted to put on the showcase for you. Remember that you will need to book a preferred time slot for Friday and Saturday on the website booking app. It is similar to purchasing an item online. Make sure and go to your cart and check out to complete the booking! Sunday will be walk in
