FREE FOR AUDITORS!!
Come watch private lessons for Working Equitation riders with Masters's level competitor and WE instructor, Mary Young. There will be both dressage and obstacle training and each lesson will be based on each rider's individual goals in "stepping up" a level during the 2026 season.
Based outside of Roseburg, Oregon, Mary customizes her training programs to create harmonious and happy relationships with each horse and rider team. Mary trains horses to have very classically correct foundations allowing them to be mentally relaxed and willing and physically supple, strong, straight in their body, light in the hand and responsive to the seat.
As an instructor Mary is very focused on classical, biomechanically correct position to sculpt the rider and using a demanding, yet patient approach, she helps to instill confidence and harmony between her horses and riders.
Working Equitation has become a passion for Mary in the last ten years with showing since 2019. Working Equitation gives the horses and riders a chance to use their classical dressage training in a sport that emphasizes harmoniously developed and trusting partnerships. It is a sport that encourages correct and classical development adding obstacles we well as speed and cattle work for deeper relationships with our horses. Mary is a master level rider and developing horses all through the levels. Mary, and Gingao, just competed during October 2025 in the largest Masters' level competition ever held in the USA, the WAWE Master's Qualifier in Temecula during the Region 2 Championships. It was a joy to watch her and her horse dance thru the test and courses.
