Be heard!
Harmonize!
Sing in a community that supports your playful, fierce, sensual, wild, and powerful voice!
Women’s Voices is an informal vocal ensemble led by singer-songwriter, and vocal coach Kendra Kae. We learn songs in a folk tradition, without music to increase our listening skills, encouraging improvisation and intuitive harmonizing.
Let your intuition guide you! In Women’s Voices, there’s no pressure to be perfect. There are NO mistakes. There are only layers and textures of voices coming together.
With a bigger mission and vision, Women’s Voices will grow to become a safe community for women to explore their voice as well as develop their vocal and musical skills with opportunities to perform.
Members of the ensemble are supported and encouraged to bring and lead their own songs.
We meet every Monday 7:15-8:45pm at Zen riot, 5333 Franklin Rd
Drop ins are $20. Membership is $50/month.
As we are only beginning, there are so many wonderful goals on the horizon. Being a member of the ensemble has the joy of community and consistency, and will also provide optional performance opportunities down the road.
Support a sister! When you buy an additional membership, you give another woman the opportunity to join the ensemble that wouldn’t otherwise be able to.
Stay connected with the community by requesting to join our WhatsApp group. There will be reminders for regular practices, jams, and other events.
ABOUT KENDRA
My name is Kendra Kae. I'm a classically trained opera singer, with extensive knowledge in embodiment, mindfulness, and play practices. I have helped experienced and non-experienced singers alike to have transformational success. I have always had a powerful voice, myself, singing since I was three. I left opera after realizing that emotional issues were blocking my voice. After leaving, I suffered from vocal dysphonia due to emotional blocks and body tension that resulted from holding tension in the body. At the beginning of 2024, I had no ability to phonate healthily. I put all of my knowledge to work to free my voice and establish a loving relationship with my voice. Now I perform and record my own music, combining technique with embodied intuition for a sound that feels and sounds good.
I also offer 1:1 vocal coaching for all voice types, encouraging vocal creativity, establishing good physical and emotional vocal health, with the goal to have a better relational with your voice.
